A bit
about myself:
I began my studies in integrative
medicine in 1999. The emphasis of my
study and training is in Clinical
Herbalism, nutrition, and lifestyle
interventions for health. While
attending the Rocky Mountain Center
for Botanical Studies (RMCBS) in
Boulder Colorado I completed a three
year course of intensive study in
herbs, nutrition, and integrative
medicine as well as a clinical
residency to receive Certification
as a Clinical Herbalist.
Working as a Clinical Herbalist
and Nutritional Consultant, I
noticed more and more how critical
emotional and spiritual resiliency
was to the healing process. Often it
seemed that the degree of emotional
and spiritual resiliency dictated
the healing trajectory more than any
herbal and nutritional interventions
I could offer my clients. As I began
my search for more tools and
resources to support my clients in
their healing journeys I was on a
healing journey of my own. Having my
physical health deteriorate for no
diagnosable reason according to
Western allopathic medicine drove me
further to seek out more integrative
approaches to working with the
entire body, mind, spirit. It was in
this search that I discovered the
TARA Approach. The TARA Approach is
a system that effectively addresses
the blocks we have, emotionally,
developmentally, neurologically, and
physiologically speaking, to
manifesting our full potential.
As I
steeped myself in studying and
working with the TARA Approach I
began to understand that our
capacity for total health is often
determined by our earliest
experiences. In addressing these
dynamics using the TARA Approach
while simultaneously approaching my
client’s health issues with herbs,
nutrition, and lifestyle
interventions I witnessed a profound
increase in people’s healing
potential. This is what inspired me
to pursue a Master’s degree in
psychology. I wanted to understand
more about the mind and behavior so
that I could more fully understand
and work with the body mind
connection. In addition to having a
master’s degree in Couple, Child,
and Family counseling I have
training and experience working with
expressive arts and various movement
therapies. |
